Safer Neighbourhoods SUMMER 2010

The Clowne Safer Neighbourhood Team continues to focus on the issues that matter in your community. At a recent panel meeting it was decided the issues we would be tackling over the next three months would be:

  • Anti-social behaviour on Villa Park and the Skate Park
  • Parking issues on Ringer Lane, Rood Lane and King Street, Clowne

We asked: What are the priorities in your neighbourhood?

You said: Parking issues on King Street, Ringer Lane and Rood Lane, Clowne.

We did: A leaflet drop alongside regular patrols was done to advise residents and motorists about the parking issues. Anyone continuing to park inconsiderately or illegally in the area has been issued with an official notice and further action such as fines will be handed out if the problems continue. Regular visits to the school have been made to ensure the impact on local residents at start and finish times is kept to a minimum. Complaints have fallen dramatically but we will continue to target the issue and review our progress at the next panel meeting.

You said: Nuisance vehicles on Tesco car park and Recreation Close, Clowne.

We did: Carried out regular patrols and worked with the store's security team and the local council to take a joint approach. Action has been taken against repeat offenders who have received warnings that they could have their vehicle seized if the behaviour continues, This priority has now been closed but we will continue to patrol the area and work with the store's management to ensure the problem does not reoccur.

In other news, we have welcomed PCSO Matt Wardle to the team who has three years' experience with the force. To help set the priority issues we will be focusing on come along to our next panel meeting on Wednesday, September 8th at Clowne Community Centre, Recreation Close, from 6pm.
